View towards Dartmoor from our garden
It’s not much like Tobago but it’s still really beautiful! After a fabulous 2 week holiday loafing in the sunshine (our only responsibility being the supplies of gin, limes and tonic….) we have returned to find Autumn has arrived!! Devon is cloaked in gold, red and yellow…. simply beautiful.

The famous stepping stones over the River Teign!
If you’re brave, it’s a hop and a skip into National Trust woodlands and up onto Dartmoor for a bracing walk onto Heltor Tor with amazing views across Dartmoor and towards the coast.

It's Renee in the Teign Valley
Watch out, bootnecks dressed as Renee in the Devon countryside – it’s extraordinary what you can find in Devon!!

Teign Valley riverside Daffs in bloom overlooking the famous Dunsford Stepping Stones, all 14 giant granite steps being almost invisible under the recent flood water that is!!

‘Splash Club’ members – come and renew your membership here with ease !!

River Teign running reasonably high after recent rains…………and the Moles have had to move to higher ground too!!

Spring flowers are starting to burst into colour and Easter B&B bookings and beyond are also starting to show promise too.

Spring is ‘definately’ in the air at Orchard Barn….. and guests will be delighted to meet Lesley when they come and stay as she adds a new dimension to the happy atmosphere around the place!!

The Famous Stepping Stones at Orchard Barn Dunsford crossing the River Teign

The spectacular view from Buzzard Point above Canonteign Falls looking towards Ashton and the Royal Oak Pub where they serve a truly wonderful pint of Jail Ale…………one of life’s riches I can assure you.
Recently I escorted a B&B guest on a lovely long 10 miler………we crossed the Teign using the Stepping Stones opposite the house and walked through woods and paths and a little on road as well until we got to the Canonteign Estate………….knowing my way through the undergrowth we eat our picnic at Buzzard Point overlooking the wonderful Teign Valley below and then headed for the Royal Oak Pub at Ashton where we were warmly welcomed for a well earned pint. Brilliant………..and then tea and toast at home on return………..not a bad days work I’d say. You should try it!!

Charles (on the right) Parry’s 50th Birthday Celebratory Weekend at Orchard Barn B&B was a fun and energetic 5 day extravaganza – he and his wife Sue organised a get together of their friends and family to mark their double 50th and 25th wedding anniversary.
They hired the village cricket ground and played numerous games (wellie throwing, cricket, etc) before congregating for a wonderful feast at their house and garden.
The next day everyone went for a long walk and finished up with a Cider Sampling at Orchard Barn and children were offered a T20 Fergie Tractor drive around the croquet lawn.

Ian and his T20 Fergie and link-box with children circuiting the garden.
